The registration regulations and cancellation policy appear in the registration page

The race regulations are according to the ITU regulations except for the following changes and additions:

Every person who meets all the following requirements may participate:

  1. Year of birth meets the age requirements as explained in the General Info page
  2. Has completed his registration (including payment) prior to the registration end date
  3. Has handed the organizers (during the preset declared dates) a health permit signed by a doctor and a signed personal accident insurance policy that covers sports events and races. Click here for more information
  4. Has signed a fitness declaration and removal of responsibility, during the registration check-in. 

Cut-off Times and Race Disqualification

Failure to meet the designated cut-off time for any segment will result in immediate disqualification and the termination of participation. In such cases, the competitor must board the official organizer vehicle to be transported to the finish line.

The following are the official checkpoints and cut-off times:

Swim Segment & Transition 1 (T1)

  • Challenge Israman 226 Swim Finish: 2:20 hours from the final 226 wave start.

  • Challenge Israman 226 Bike Start (T1 Exit): 2:25 hours from the final 226 wave start.

  • Challenge Israman 113 Swim Finish: 1:10 hours from the final 113 wave start.

  • Challenge Israman 113 Bike Start (T1 Exit): 1:15 hours from the final 113 wave start.

Bike Segment

  • Northern Turnaround Point: 16:00.

  • Last Aid Station (approx. 22km to bike finish): 16:30.

  • Bike Finish (T2 Entry): 17:20.

Run Segment & Finish Line

  • Run Start (T2 Exit): 17:30.

  • Start of Final Run Lap: 16:00 hours from the final 226 wave start.

  • Official Race Finish: 17:00 hours from the final 226 wave start (at 23:30).

Please Note: Failure to adhere to these cut-off times will lead to immediate disqualification and cessation of the race.

Important Information for International Athletes: Mandatory Active Timing Chip

⏱️ Active Timing Chip Requirement Participation in Israman 2026 is strictly permitted only with an Active Timing Chip.

As an international participant, you are required to rent a chip for the duration of the event.

Rental Costs:

  • 50 NIS – Rental fee (includes a compatible strap).

  • 260 NIS – Refundable security deposit.

⚠️ Key Instructions:

  • Return Policy: The chip must be returned at the Transition Area check-out immediately following the race.

  • Deposit: Failure to return the chip will result in the full forfeiture of the 260 NIS deposit.

  • Responsibility: The athlete is fully responsible for the chip (loss, damage, or failure to return).

Participation is not possible without an active timing chip.

  • The chip must be worn on the ankle throughout the entire race.
  • It is mandatory to pass upon all the timing surfaces along the course.
  • The bike, helmet and T2 bag must be deposited in the transition area on Thursday, the day before the race, during the designated hours. Equipment will not be permitted to be deposited on race day morning.
  • Entering the transition area will be permitted only to those presenting their participant bracelet (provided during the check-in).
  • The bike number, provided during the check-in, must be attached to the bike in such a way that is visible on both sides of the bike frame, or on its left side if otherwise not possible. It is not permitted to fold or change the number’s size.
  • The participant’s number sticker, provided during the check-in, must be attached to the front of the helmet.
  • Without passing the bike and helmet safety check successfully at the entrance to the transition area, depositing equipment will not be permitted.
  • Once the equipment is deposited, it cannot be removed from the transition area.
  • A specific area will be designated for each participant’s bike. A bike that will be found not in its designated place will be removed by the organizers.
  • Entering the transition area to check on the equipment will be permitted on the morning of the race, during the designated hours only.
  • Entering and exiting the transition area with the bike be will be permitted only to those presenting their race bib number.

We believe that integrity, fairness, and sportsmanship drive the Israman Challenge competitors. However, to ensure fair play for everyone, referees will patrol the course throughout the competition.

  • Competitors must obey the instructions of the referees, police officers, and marshals along the route.
  • A referee is entitled, at their discretion, to issue a verbal warning, stop a competitor and send them back for correction, issue a yellow card (warning – time penalty), a blue card (drafting – time penalty), or a red card (immediate disqualification).
  • An appeal against a referee’s decision or against the conduct of another competitor may be submitted within two hours of the end of the competition, along with a fee of 200 ILS, which will be refunded only if the appeal is accepted. The composition of the appeals committee will be published on the competition website.
  • Any escort or assistance to a competitor in an area not designated for this purpose will result in the competitor’s disqualification.
  • Littering outside the designated aid stations is prohibited and will result in a time penalty if the waste is not collected by the competitor.
  • It is forbidden to compete with headphones, music players, or telephones (phones are permitted only for emergency use).
    • A swim cap, handed out by the organizers, must be worn. Each wave will receive a different color cap.
    • Race favorites will have a different color swimming cap and will start in front of the start line. For pro wave criteria see here.
    • The use of wetsuits is permitted.
    • It is not permitted to enter the swim course prior to the race start. There will be a designated area in the water where the swimmers may use to warm up in.
    • It is not permitted to swim with the race number.
    • It is forbidden to run along the coast or use any other shortcut in the swim course.
    • It is mandatory to circle around each of the buoys, as will be explained in the race briefing.
    • It is mandatory to pass upon the timing surface at each exit from the water.

•It is prohibited to leave equipment or clothing outside of T1, including running shoes on the beach.

•All replacement equipment and clothing, except for the bike and cycling shoes (only if attached to the pedals), must be stored in the T1 bag. After completing the transition and before removing the bike from the rack, all swimming gear must be stored in the T1 bag. Any gear left scattered will not be returned.

•Assistance in the transition area is permitted only by the official Challenge Israman team.

  • Ride safely and in accordance with traffic laws.
  • Ride with your participant number displayed on your back. Do not fold or reduce the size of the number.
  • Keep to the right to allow other competitors to perform a safe overtake.
  • Overtaking is permitted only from the left of the rider, and immediately afterward, you must return to the right side of the road.
  • Drafting is strictly prohibited. Maintain a gap of 12 meters (6 bike lengths) from the front wheel of the rider ahead. When overtaking, it must be completed within 25 seconds while maintaining a lateral gap of 3 meters if possible.
  • The overtaken rider must allow the overtake and exit the drafting zone within 5 seconds before attempting to overtake back.
  • It is absolutely forbidden to cross the centerline of the road, even if it is dashed or missing.
  • Do not receive equipment, food, or technical assistance from any person who is not a competitor or official race staff.
  • A competitor who receives a blue card during the ride (drafting violation) is required to enter the penalty box located at T2 for (3 minutes for the full distance / 2 minutes for the half distance) for each blue card. (A third blue card constitutes disqualification). Failure to enter the penalty box will result in disqualification without the possibility of appeal. A blue card cannot be appealed.
  • A competitor who receives a yellow card during the ride is required to enter the penalty box for a duration of 30 seconds (for the half distance) for each yellow card. Failure to enter the penalty box will result in disqualification, but the penalty decision can be appealed. If the appeal is accepted, the disqualification will be canceled. If the appeal is rejected, the participant is disqualified. No appeal is possible if the penalty box is entered.
  • At the end of the cycling section, the bike will be taken by the CHALLENGE ISRAMAN team and transported back to T1.
  • Any equipment and clothing that will be changed, including cycling shoes and helmet, should be left inside the T2 bag. Equipment and clothing left outside the bag will not be returned to the owner.
  • Assistance at the transition area is permitted only by the official CHALLENGE ISRAMAN team.

Run Segment Regulations & Safety Instructions

  • General Safety: Participants must run with caution and remain alert for vehicles and obstacles along the course.

  • Bib Numbers: The participant’s bib number must be clearly displayed on the front of the body. Folding, cutting, or reducing the size of the bib number is strictly prohibited.

  • Night Safety: We strongly recommend that any runner starting the run segment from 16:00 onwards carries a headlamp.

  • Course Navigation: Runners must stay on the designated side of the road and use the sidewalk only. Where no sidewalk is available, runners must stick to the shoulder or the dirt path according to the markers. Running in the middle of the road or crossing at non-designated points is dangerous and will result in immediate disqualification.

  • External Assistance: Receiving assistance (equipment and nutrition) from individuals who are not part of the official Challenge Israman staff is permitted only within a 50-meter range of the designated accessible aid stations.

  • Pacing & Accompaniment: Accompanying or pacing a competitor is strictly prohibited.

  • Finish Line Accompaniment: Accompaniment is permitted only during the final 100 meters of the run, provided it does not interfere with other competitors. (The exact starting point for accompaniment will be marked and detailed during the athlete briefing).

  • Medical Exceptions: Athletes requiring accompaniment for medical or health reasons must coordinate this in advance and register their companion. The companion is required to present all official documentation and permits required of a regular participant.

  • Each participant that has completed the race within the time limits and without being disqualified will receive a ‘Finisher’ medal.
  • The bike, T1 and T2 bags must be collected from the transition area no later than 24:00.
  • In order to take the bike out of the transition area, the race bib number must be presented upon exit.
